At the simple push of a button, the Hot Water D'MAND® System circulates cool water in the hot water pipes (water that is normally lost down the drain) back to the water heater via the cold water line and fills the hot water line with hot water. The D'MAND® Controlled Hot Water Recirculation System moves the water so rapidly that hot water arrives at the fixtures before the heat is lost through the pipe. When hot water reaches the pump it turns off to prevent the cold water lines from filling with hot water. The Hot Water D'MAND® System saves the same amount of water as traditional circulating systems, but by operating only on demand, it uses no more energy than a non-circulating system.
